Sommermeisterschaft in der 2. Liga endet mit dem Abstieg
Am 28.08.2021, 10.00 Uhr, stand das erste Spiel in der Abstiegsrunde auf dem Programm. Als Gegner stand die erfahrene Mannschaft von Affoltern am Albis 2 gegenüber. Der erste Satz gestaltete sich zur Überraschung aller Beteiligten sehr ausgeglichen bzw. die Walliseller konnten sich lange Zeit über einen Vorsprung freuen. Kurz vor Satzende schlichen sich bei den Wallisellern einige unnötige Fehler ein, weswegen der Satz zum Ende dem Gegner überlassen werden musste. In den Sätzen zwei und drei zeigte die Mannschaft von Affoltern am Albis 2 sodann ihr wahres Können und liess den Wallisellern nie den Hauch einer Chance. So ging das erste von zwei Spielen mit 3:0 Sätzen verloren.
Im zweiten und sogleich letzten Spiel wartete die Mannschaft von Satus Schlieren. Aufgrund der aktuellen Ergebnisse war klar, dass dieses Spiel zwingend mit 3:0 Sätzen gewonnen werden musste, um dem Abstieg in die 3. Liga zu entgehen. Doch irgendwie kamen die Walliseller nie wirklich ins Spiel. Der Gegner wusste immer wieder mit starken Angaben zu überzeugen und Druck aufzubauen. Dem konnte nie wirklich Paroli geboten werden. Am Ende musste auch dieses Spiel mit 3:0 Sätzen dem Gegner überlassen werden.
Somit endet die Sommermeisterschaft 2021 für die Walliseller Faustballer mit dem Abstieg in die 3. Liga.
Es spielten: Laura Al-Halabi, Corsin Daume, Pascal Brügger, Ernst Reich, Markus Wyniger und Michael Hofer.
